The exercise in this section will provide you with an opportunity to do some hands-on work with the ArcGIS StoryMaps platform. After finishing this exercise, you will have a better understanding of the process of building a story map within the platform and an idea of the look and feel of an example end product. This exercise will hopefully spark ideas for how you might use ArcGIS StoryMaps for your own research and teaching and provide you with foundational knowledge for starting those projects.

In order to complete this exercise, you'll need to create an ArcGIS Online organizational account. Your ArcGIS Online organizational account can be accessed using your OSU name.# and password, and the account is created for you the first time you sign in. To create your ArcGIS Online organizational account (or sign in if you already have one), follow the steps in the document linked below.

Once you have signed in to your ArcGIS Online organizational account, move on to Task 1.
