In addition to having a presence in the academic community through research and scholarship, composition studies professionals, writing center administrators, and peer tutors support one another through a variety of professional organizations and conferences. These organizations and conferences provide support for and resources related to the theory and practice of writing and tutoring. The sites also include calls for papers for scholarly journals, book collections, scholarly conferences, and online journals and websites.
