A+ Research Presentation Series

Intro to Where Do You Start

A+ Research: Where Do You Start?

The whole research process in a nutshell. Ohio State Senior Yehosef Thomas teaches you a handy mnemonic (F-I-R-S-T) that you can use to guide yourself through the process the next time you’re working on a research project. It's a great way to learn the big steps without having to deal with all the detail. (This event will NOT connect you with a faculty member who wants to hire student researchers. For that, contact the Undergraduate Research Office.)

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the FIRST mnemonic for steps in the research process.
  • Use Wikipedia to narrow your project topic, develop a research question, and find links to resources that are appropriate for college-level research projects.
  • Use the OSU Libraries' website to get help with your research projects.
