Getting to Know Libraries Search

We Are Under Construction

Libraries Search is still in beta as it doesn't yet have live data; you will likely see strange behavior with electronic resources, and we are still setting up and testing campus locations.

The links for Databases, OhioLINK, and ILL are not yet active in Libraries Search but will be ready for go live in June.

Overview of Libraries Search

Libraries Search search bar

Libraries Search is the new discovery tool we will use as part of the Alma migration; you can visit our instance of Libraries Search at search.library.osu.edu.

The Discovery Working Group is still making minor changes to Libraries Search, so you may see slight changes in search behavior until University Libraries goes live with Alma in June 2025.  The data currently in the test instance of Libraries Search was extracted from Sierra in June 2024, and may not reflect current holdings.

What can I search?

Similar to University Libraries Discover search, Libraries Search provides one-stop searching for books, e-books, videos, articles, digital media, and more.  You can also manage your research by signing in and renewing items, creating favorite lists, and exporting citations to Refworks.

You can refine your search by using the facet options, which include sorting by relevance, date, journal title, OhioLINK institution, and more.
