Permalinks and Redirects

Testing your current permalinks

To help individuals check the kinds of links that may or may not be supported, a URL test script has been developed and put in place here: OSUL URL Test Script

You can copy links from your webpages or from the library catalog and see how the content will currently map to Primo.

Using Permalinks

Libraries has always recommended linking to records using the permanent link. Please review any record links you have on websites, in Canvas, in syllabi, etc to verify they resolve to the permanent link.

Libraries will redirect the following links for 12 months after the June 25, 2025 cutover date:

  • Links to search results for titles, authors, call numbers, and keywords
  • Links from items

How-To: University Library Permalinks
