East European and Slavic Studies (EES)

ABSEES covers North American scholarship on East-Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, and includes citations for journal articles, books, book chapters, book reviews, dissertations, selected government documents.

This project contains works of major importance to historical studies -- books that remain vital to both scholars and advanced students, and are frequently cited in the literature. Initially 500 titles were available, with 275 titles added in Fall 2003 and 250 titles added in subsequent years. More information is available on the

Academic Search Complete is comprehensive scholarly, multi-disciplinary full-text database, with more than 5,300 full-text periodicals, including 4,400 peer-reviewed journals. In addition to full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 9,300 journals and a total of 10,900 publications including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc.

ArchivesUSA is a current directory of 5,500 repositories and 141,178 collections of primary source material across the United States. Researchers are able to read descriptions of a repository's holdings to determine whether a collection contains material useful to their work as well as find the information they need to contact the repository directly. Repository records provide detailed information including phone and fax numbers, hours of service, materials solicited, email and home page URLs when available. Each collection record links to its corresponding repository record, simplifying the research process.

Ethnic NewsWatch is a full text database of newspapers published by and for leading American ethnic groups, and provides information on topics not covered by the mainstream press. Additionally, it provides ethnic perspectives of topics of national interest that may vary from what is presented in the mainstream press.

Factiva provides access to global new content covering nearly 8,000 sources, including Dow Jones and Reuters Newswires and The Wall Street Journal. Coverage includes multilingual content and the option to limit keywords searches to particular regions, publications, or with reference to a particular industry. One can also access company profiles that show all the news associated with a particular company. Limit of five simultaneous users.

Contains citations for dissertations and theses done at U.S., Canadian and some foreign institutions including some OSU Master's nursing theses.

Full-text files of over 30 of the most influential Russian newspapers are accessible online for browsing, searching and analyzing. Each day some 900-1000 new articles are added to the database. Over 450,000 articles are available to date.

Includes parliamentary news and analysis, legislative information, and official reports.

Full-text electronic versions of major Russian periodicals on social sciences and humanities, comprising journals of the Russian Academy of Sciences, popular literary editions, and independent scholarly publications. The Universal database includes current issues as well as archives of back issues of journals, and is reproduced with original pagination.

RLIN, the RLG database, has merged with OCLC's WorldCAT.
