Data Ethics

Data ethics is a sub-set of Research Ethics and is becoming increasingly important. 

Retraction Watch commonly posts instances of papers that are retracted due to issues with the data. These real-world examples are excellent case studies for teaching data ethics and underscore the reasons for good data management practices.

Education Data – The Forum Guide to Data Ethics Booklet and Online Course is intended for anyone who handles education data.

The Human Subjects Research Ethics Field Training Guide from the John Hopkins School of Public Health covers basic aspects of data integrity. As a bonus, this guide is translated into several other languages.

Ethics for big data and analytics from IBM is a one page quickstart guide on ethical considerations.

Ethics Case Studies from the American Physics Society contains several data-related cases.
