If you go to the 'Company Dossier' page from the menu drop down on the hompage and search for a company of interest (your own, or a competitor in your industry) as well as company info the 'Industry Knowledge' section includes 'Industry SWOT Analysis' and 'Recent Industry News'... good highlight info.

First Research industry reports are accessible from a company search, but also directly via an icon on the homepage. These industry reports include a quarterly update, business challenges and opportunities, trends, financial information and critical issues. Also includes links to relevant industry websites. (Trade associations are sometimes a great additional info source.)

Primarily an investment database, but the company profiles are some of the most in-depth. Long Company Description sometimes includes segmentation and strategy information. Easy access to SEC filings. Financials and ratios.

Company profiles include some unique features like 'Triggers' section (major company or industry events). Also sometimes includes company SWOT analysis. Link in company profile to primary industry; access to industry analysis reports from multiple producers including MarketLine (generally pretty in-depth).

One of the few sources for private company information, though data is usually very limited. (You can also check Secretary of State filings, but usually you won't find much more than Articles of Incorporation.)
