Tadoku-no-kai (多読の会) - Japanese Extensive Reading

Japanese Language Tadoku-no-kai Extensive Reading Book List

What is Tadoku 多読

Tadoku (多読) - ‘Ta’ (多) in tadoku means ‘a lot’, and ‘doku’(読) means ‘to read’. It's a program developed to help Japanese language learners to find books suitable to their reading level here in the library.

Start with books that you can enjoy without using a dictionary. Tadoku has four "golden" rules:

  1. Read easy books.
  2. Don't use your dictionary.
  3. Skip over difficult words, phrases and passages.
  4. When the going gets tough, quit the book and pick up another.
