Databases

African American Communities                                                                                     

Database archive focuses on Atlanta, Chicago, St. Louis, New York, and North Carolina African American communities. Resource contains a diverse collection of primary source materials including: art, documents, oral histories, community case studies, essays, images, realia, and video. African American life, history, and culture is distinctively represented.

EBSCOHost Databases  
A multi-interdisciplinary suite of databases covering the arts, humanities, law, life and health sciences, social sciences, science and technology. Databases contain content from popular magazines, scholarly journals, newspapers, documents, books, reports, conference proceedings, and other digital media. 

SELECT:

Academic Search Complete offers an enormous collection of full-text journals, providing users access to critical information from many sources unique to this database. In addition, it includes peer-reviewed full text for STEM research, as well as for the social sciences and humanities. 

Academic Search Premier covers the expansive academic disciplines offered in colleges and universities. It provides comprehensive content, including PDF backfiles to 1975.

AgeLine addresses aging issues from individual, national and global perspectives. This database focuses exclusively on issues of aging and the population of people aged 50 years and older.

Business Source Complete provides full-text content from a variety of sources, including business magazines, top management journals, trade publications, country economic reports, industry reports, market research reports and company profiles.

The Chicano Database pulls content from journals and other resources, including newspapers, books, and book chapters.  Content within the Chicano Database is designed to further research, teaching and scholarship for Chicano studies programs and extended ethnic studies curricula.

Consumer Health Complete offers a unique search interface that organizes results by source type so users can easily find the content they're looking for. Source types include journals, magazines, reference books, encyclopedias, pamphlets, images and videos.

Criminal Justice Abstracts with Full Text contains records selected from the most important journals and magazines related to criminal justice and criminology. Many of the full-text sources are peer-reviewed and available with no embargo.

Education Research Complete covers the areas of curriculum instruction, administration, policy, funding and related social issues. Topics covered include all levels of education from early childhood to higher education and all educational specialties, such as multilingual education, health education and testing.

GreenFILE covers the connections between the environment and a variety of disciplines such as agriculture, education, law, health and technology.

Legal Collection offers information centered on the discipline of law and legal topics including criminal justice, ethics, federal law, international law, labor and human resource law, medical law, organized crime and the environment.

LGBT Life with Full Text includes full text for many of the top LGBT publications. Additional content includes author supplied abstracts, author supplied keywords, author affiliations and searchable cited references.

Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection provides access to hundreds of full-text journals and offers particularly strong coverage in child and adolescent psychology and various areas of counseling.

Public Affairs Index draws from a diverse array of carefully selected scholarly journals, conference papers, trade publications and government documents. It provides up-to-date information on a broad range of public policy topics of concern to the world today.

Race Relations Abstracts An essential resource for ethnic and racial studies, this database includes abstracting for the top academic journals, books, periodicals and newspapers related to the field.

National Criminal Justice Reference Service Abstracts provides information on criminal justice, juvenile justice and substance abuse resources.

Social Work Abstracts offers extensive coverage on social work and human services topics dating back to 1965. Researchers, students and practitioners seeking scholarly and professional perspectives on subjects such as therapy, education, human services, addictions, child and family welfare, mental health, civil and legal rights. 

Sociological Collection covers a broad range of subjects relevant to sociology and its related disciplines including social behavior, human tendencies, interaction, relationships, community development, social and cultural structure. 


Ethnic NewsWatch  

The Ethnic NewsWatch resource contains newspapers published by and for United States cultural, ethnic, and racial minority groups. This database provides ethnic perspectives on topics of national interest that may vary from mainstream mass media interpretations.


HeinOnline

Legal history online research database  provides content from  law school  journals, legal news serials,, and law-related periodicals. Database also contains the Congressional Record Bound volumes, U.S. Reports back to 1754, famous world trials dating back to the early 1700’s, legal classics from the 16th to the 20th centuries, and global governance documents.
