Some industry resources are organized or indexed by an industry classification number. It can be helpful to note this number when using some of the Libraries' resources to browse more effectively for relevant information.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is the standard used by Federal statistical agencies in classifying business establishments for the purpose of collecting, analyzing, and publishing statistical data related to the U.S. business economy.
SIC is a system for classifying industries by a four-digit code. The NAICS was developed to replace the SIC code, but some resources still contain the SIC.
Contains the full-text Wall Street Journal newspaper which has extensive coverage of stock markets, finance, investments and business-oriented news. We have access to articles from 1984-current.

Company pages give you a good overview of a company + all the most recent relevant news stories in one place.
If you're looking for local business news the Libraries subscribes to a number of BizJournals which focus on a particular city, including an annual publication called Book of Lists which lists best local companies in a wide variety of categories.
