Getting Started

How do I use this guide?
This guide provides information about online sources for streaming content licensed by the Ohio State University Libraries. Streaming media is not downloadable.

Can I access the content if I am off-campus, or not a member of the OSU community?
Many of the sources of streaming media listed in this guide are limited to the Ohio State community. Members of the OSU community can use their ID to sign in to access these sources when they are off campus.

Update Regarding Campus Streaming Resources

This spring, the Office of Distance Education and eLearning (ODEE) signaled its intent to retire its Secured Media Library (SML) service at the end of the 2021 calendar year.  This service comprised of digitized files of locally held physical media (DVDs) that were made available in select Canvas course pages via ODEE's streaming server.

Knowing this, University Libraries is collecting and analyzing data from ODEE to identify resources that can be licensed for streaming access and made available to the OSU community through one of our many partner platforms.  University Libraries cannot perform media digitization or locally host digitized files for streaming.
