Using the numbers above, below are descriptions of what these options do:
- New Search: Brings you back the main Libraries Search page.
- Ask Us: Use this to get help by chat or message.
- Browse By…: Provides options to see results by:
- Author (Last name, First name)
- Title
- Series
- Call Number (Library of Congress)
- Call Number (Government Documents)
- Subject (Library of Congress Subject Heading)
- Subject (MeSH)
- Journal Title: Search journals by title.
- Database Title: Search databases by title.
- Search by Citation: If you have a citation, enter the info to search for the item.
- . . . : Provides some additional options for searching (such as Newspapers).
- QR Code: Click on this symbol to get a QR code (also provides a link) to the page you are currently looking at.
- Pin: Clicking this symbol shows you items you have pinned to save and shows your search history.
- Sign In: If you sign in using your name.#, you will get more complete results and can access saved information and view your account.
- Menu: Once you sign in, this is where you access info about your account.
- The search box where you can enter search terms. Click the microphone to speak your search terms. Before entering your search, you can get additional search options by clicking on the magnifying glass:
- Everything: The default search, finds all formats (articles, books, audiovisual, etc.).
- Library Catalog: Find books/ebooks, audiovisual materials, and more.
- Articles: Focus just on journal articles.
- Course Reserves: Find library content available for a specific course.
- Research Guides: Find subject, course, and resource guides.
- Digital Local Collections: Find digitized content from our Archives and Special Collections.
- Beyond My Library: Find content available from other locations/sources and get via OhioLINK or Interlibrary Loan.
- Advanced Search: Allows you to be more specific in your search, including choosing specific languages, publication dates, and search fields.
Below the search box, you have options to focus on specific source types:
- All: The default search is to search all source types available via the Libraries.
- Books: Find ebooks and print books available via the Libraries or OhioLINK.
- Journal Articles will focus on items from journals.
- Databases will find search tools you can use to do advanced searching. Many are subject or format focused.
- Journal Titles will find journals with specific titles.
- Video/Film will find streaming videos and film/video on physical formats (DVD, VHS, etc.).
- Sound Recordings will find music, audiobooks, and other audio content available streaming and on physical formats (CDs, LPs, etc.).
