The Libraries at The Ohio State University has so many resources to help you with research for your classes, background data and information to help you start an entrepreneurial venture, job prospecting or interview preparation research and more! As well as databases, we have access to news, articles, and books. And if we don't currently have access to materials you need, there are Interlibrary Loan services, or you can suggest a purchase. I am also one of your Libraries resources. This guide is just to get you started. Please don't ever hesitate to reach out. I am here to answer all of your questions.

D&B Hoovers This link opens in a new window
Hoover's is a great starting point for company research, with some industry and market research included as well. Company financials, 'trigger' news stories on big developments, a competitors list and more. A lot of people also use this database for job prospecting because you can 'Build a Company List' by criteria like industry, location, etc.
IBISWorld Industry Reports This link opens in a new window
Best bet for US (and some global) industry research, including some specialized industries. Reports generally include information like demand drivers, major players, industry outlook, operating conditions and more.
Business Source Complete [Selected Articles in Full Text] This link opens in a new window
This is a best bet starting point for scholarly and peer-reviewed articles on business topics. Ask me about how to search more efficiently!

Factiva is THE resource for global news coverage. As well as keyword searching, there is also a Company/Market tab where you can search for a company of interest and see a page collecting all recent news stories related to that company.
BCC Research This link opens in a new window
This is the best option for market research reports on STEM markets (chemistry, engineering, healthcare, materials, etc.)
Mintel Reports [Selected Articles in Full Text] This link opens in a new window
This is the best database for US consumer research. As well as market size, brand segmentation, etc. reports also include consumer characteristics and attitudes. We also have access to Mintel's Global New Product Database that tracks new product releases including information on marketing claims, ingredients, packaging and more!
NetAdvantage This link opens in a new window
This is primarily an investment database, so there is a lot of information about a company's stock performance, key ratios, and company financials. There are also associated industry reports and often a detailed company history.

Statista
Statista is a catch-all database a lot of students use to find statistics on almost anything. They also produce their own reports on trends, consumers, industries and companies.

This is a venture capital investment database. You can search for funding rounds limited by investor type, industry, location, etc.
eMarketer PRO This link opens in a new window
This database focuses in digital marketing, media and commerce; includes information on ad spending, social media trends, and more.
