Basic Search Features

1. Database Selection: Choose which database(s) you want to search based on the subject you're interested in.

2. Search Fields: Fields represent categories of information about articles. You can search all fields, or search for your terms specifically in fields such as title or author.  Topic lets you search for your terms across the title, abstract, and keyword fields.  The fields available will vary depending on which and how many databases you have selected to search.  More information on the fields available for the Web of Science Core Collection is available here

3. Add row: Adding a row lets you build a structured search by grouping alternative terms within a row and connecting those rows with Boolean operators.  See Search tips for more information.

4. Add date range: If relevant results for your question are limited to a particular range of dates, you can set those limits here.

5. Other search tools: You can use these features to look up specific researchers, the works cited by a particular article, or specific chemical structures.
