Across the country, cultural institutions, school districts, municipalities, state legislatures, public servants, and non-profit organizations issue proclamations and engage in special events that celebrate our community’s rich heritage and numerous contributions to society.>>

Arab America is a United States media organization founded to promote a positive image of the Arab American community and the Arab world.Arab America’s goals are to bring together the diverse Arab American community.and provide an accurate information resource for all Americans. A global resource for Arab culture, businesses, churches, mosques, organizations, restaurants, ethnic grocery stores, and music.
Arab American National Museum (AANM) goal is to document, preserve and present the history, culture and contributions of Arab Americans. AANM has an extensive collection of Arab American art, artifacts, historical documents, and oral histories.
The term "Black Arab" refers to a group of Arabs of African descent called the African Arab or Afro-Arab. Black Arab nationalities include Algerians, Egyptians, Emiratis, Jordanians, Mauritanians, Moroccans, Omanis, Palestinians, Sahrawis, Saudis, and Sudanese. Proclamations for National Arab American Heritage Month-April 2025
<<Since we launched our movement for National Arab American Heritage Month in 2017, we have received numerous proclamations for this initiative. This year, the Arab America Foundation salutes over two hundred and fifty Arab Americans on twenty-four state teams who continue approaching governors, state officials, mayors, school boards, and county executives nationwide.>>

Arab American Heritage Month

WHEREAS, Alaska is comprised of many languages, belief systems, and traditions that strengthen the social fabric of our State; and
WHEREAS, we respect the heritage and traditions of all cultures in our communities and we are proud to be Alaskans with diverse ethnicities; and
WHEREAS, Arab Americans have made valuable contributions to many aspects of society: in medicine, law, business, education, technology, government, and through military service; and
WHEREAS, since migrating to America, men and women of Arab descent have shared their rich culture and traditions with neighbors and friends, while also setting examples as model citizens and public servants; and
WHEREAS, Arab Americans have enriched our society with their resilient family values, strong work ethic, dedication to education, and by sharing in the entrepreneurial spirit that makes our Nation free and prosperous; and
WHEREAS, the contributions of Arab Americans have helped us build a better Nation and we recognize the heritage of all those who are proud to call themselves Alaskans and Americans.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Mike Dunleavy, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF ALASKA, do hereby proclaim April 2025 as:
Arab American Heritage Month
in Alaska and encourage all Alaskans to recognize the contributions that Arab Americans have made to strengthen our Great State.
